Back in business

Wednesday, March 14th, 2012

Been very busy with recruiting so I haven’t been able to blog much.

I will be posting a list of camps and junior days that are reported to me either late this week or early next. This will give you an idea of how to plan out your spring and summer.

I am a big proponent of attending either (or both) on campuses as the trend is swinging big time in favor of offers going first to those that staffs have seen on campus and have been able to do the eyeball test. They also want skin in the game from a prospective recruit and not just someone that is looking to collect as many offers as possible.

Offer number 18 for Willis

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

With offers piling up, it could be understandable if they all start blending together for Tempe Marcos De Niza DB Priest Willis.

The latest is a big deal however.

Willis was just offered by Florida State, a school that will surely get a long look in the end and will be considered one of the front runners for his services.

Handicapping the Neal Decision

Monday, February 20th, 2012

Scottsdale Chaparral star Davonte Neal announces his decision tomorrow morning at 9:30am on Fox Sports Arizona.

It is a two-horse race now between Notre Dame and Arkansas. Neal has already made a decision and I am told has already notified the ‘winning’ staff this morning.

I know Davonte and his dad like both and also North Carolina is a sleeper, but the tradition and academics at Notre Dame might be too hard to pass up in the end.

I am going with what I have thought all along– Notre Dame.

Bruggman gets second Big 10 offer

Friday, February 10th, 2012

With the 2012 class put to bed, the 2013 class has taken center stage and one of those right in the middle of things is Phoenix Brophy QB Tyler Bruggman.

Already holding offers from Colorado State, Arizona State, Purdue, Arkansas and Arizona, the 6 foot 2, 185 pounder picked up an offer from Michigan State today.

Bruggman has been targeted by the Spartans for months and has been compared favorably to Michigan State’s current All Big 10 QB Kirk Cousins who led his team to the inaugural Big 10 championship game.

Willis bags another

Friday, February 10th, 2012

Tempe Marcos De Niza stud DB Priest Willis started the day with an offer from USC coach Lane Kiffin and finished the day with offer No 11 from clear across the country.

ACC member Virginia offered Willis, the first from the east coast.

Willis now holds offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, UCLA, Utah, Oregon State, San Diego State, Nebraska and Purdue along with the Trojans and Cavaliers.

Willis racks up huge offer

Friday, February 10th, 2012

The offers are now coming in fast and furious for Tempe Marcos De Niza’s Priest Willis.

This morning the 6 foot 2, 200 pounder DB got an offer from Lane Kiffin at USC. Willis has already visited the So Cal campus on an unofficial last month.

A recently released Rivals Rankings for the Top 100 2013 kids found Willis at No 84, one of two Arizona kids in the first edition poll. (The other was Lakeside Blue Ridge LB Chans Cox at No 40).

Wills adds yet another

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

Priest Willis, a standout from Tempe Marcos De Niza and one of the elite 2013 Arizona prospects is adding offers at a rapid pace lately.

This afternoon, UCLA called the 6 foot 2, 200 pound DB and extended an offer bringing his total to seven: Arizona State, Washington, Utah, Oregon State, Purdue and Arizona.

Bruggman adds first SEC offer

Monday, January 30th, 2012

Phoenix Brophy’s Tyler Bruggman, who is one of the top prospects in the 2013 class in Arizona and among the nation’s top QB prospects overall, got his first SEC offer yesterday.

Top 10 nationally ranked Arkansas extended an offer to the 6 foot 1, 185 pounder.
